So, basically - the messages of the movie are: God is above us all and more important than us all and is more right than everyone else, and anyone who disagrees with him deserves to suffer. And if you do not believe in God after watching this movie, you deserve to suffer and die.

But hey, this is all in good fun, right? I mean, there are so many OBVIOUSLY GOOD things in this movie, right? This is how you show a GOOD GOD, correct?
Oh, and when God appears to you, it's in a dark filthy cave on a miniature tree as a blue fire that doesn't burn you if you touch it. I mean, this only makes sense - why wouldn't he? Oh, and God will demand you to take off your sandals because... HE SAYS SO! Disagree with him, and you will suffer. Oh, and don't you dare to for one single second hesitate on what God says is true or question him like FOOLISH little moronic Moses does. If you do, God will shout and rant at you until you submit to him like his personal bitch. You might think this is harsh of God - but everyone shows love in different ways. Some through abuse - and God feels like going for that rout, so let him do that.
And as we see later on, God's way of showing his powers is to let someone hold a staff that turns into a dangerous snake. I mean, this can't be mistaken for ANYTHING else, right? This is just so obviously the power of God - turning staffs into snakes, right? After all, God is pure goodness and loving and caring - and you show that by turning staffs into snakes. DUH! And to show even more love, God turns a river of water into a river of blood. You might think this is really demented to do, but... God says it isn't, and you must agree with God. If you don't, he will shout at you and punish you.

And if a Pharaoh for instance would disagree with a messenger of God, he will of course suffer. Oh, did I say HE will suffer? Obviously, I also meant all the people he rules will suffer too, even though they might seem innocent. You see, they are stupid enough to be slaves of this Pharaoh themselves - they had it coming. I mean, maybe Pharaoh's actions didn't have to lead to all these things God makes them suffer by like locust swarms and the plague, but... he's God, so shut up!
Oh, and if the Pharaoh keeps on being stubborn, there is of course only one rational thing for God - you know, the most loving and caring entity to do. And that is to take the lifes of every single first born child. You might think these childs are innocent? Of course they are not. Why? BECAUSE GOD SAYS SO, AND HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!! I mean, take me for instance. If I would disagree with someone, I would also murder a first-born child they happen to know or be related to or rule over. Innocent children must die for the greater good - AKA God. I mean... of course, right? Who wouldn't want to follow someone who coldhearted murders small children when you dare to disagree with him or not believe in him? WE SHOULD ALL MURDER INNOCENT CHILDREN WHEN WE HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST SOMEONE, BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY RATIONAL AND SENSIBLE THING TO DO!!!
You might think a purehearted caring God would stay neutral and just let everything have it's natural running without letting philosophical thoughts and political opinions intervene? Oh, don't be so stupid and ignorant! God should totally be proactive and shout at those questioning him, not to mention make people suffer and die to show how loving and caring he really is!

...... this movie physically hurted me to watch. No, I'm dead serious - I felt pain in my heart as I watched it more and more - especially towards the end. People genuinly believe this sick demented bastard the movie refers to as God? Doug fucking Walker is a fan of this movie and agrees on it's views?
This is terrible. Simply just terrible. I have never felt this offended and felt this much pain by any movie ever. Not even the great animation and some great songs could help. This is sick. I can not believe how much people can pretend is good when it clearly is not. Sure, Moses freed slaves. But one's intentions aren't what makes us good alone - it's also how we choose to portray them and how to be proactive about it. Moses threatens his brother to release the slaves rather than trying to make him understand his point of view. Of course his brother will get really mad and not understand - he is raised this way, and he doesn't want to be the weak link.
If you want someone to understand your point of view - sit down and talk it out with them, explain it, and be constructive. Don't threaten them and go as far as killing innocent children! What if WE did that?! It's not okay of God to do it just because he happens to be God. That's to abuse your power - which is the message the movie TRIES to show us the Pharaohs are doing - but it's really damn hypocritical to in that case portray God like THIS! It sickens me on SO many levels.
Despite it's few good parts... I can not give this any score whatsoever, when the message is THIS sick.

Just to clearify - no, I am not a Christian, or a believer of any religion whatsoever. And I don't care if that makes me an atheist or not - I just consider myself a realist either way, because I hate being labelled.

It was historically inaccurate. The Egyptians kept strict records of their own history (even the nasty bits). There is no evidence to support the Bible's claim that the Hebrews were held as slaves. Do they honestly believe that a people guilty of thinking a tiny boat could fit 10 to 30 million animals could build something as incredible as the pyramids?
