This is exactly what you think it is. I will go through the entire list of Disney classics, and tell what I think about them, and give them a rating. And those I haven't watched, I will just state that.
* Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
It's an okay movie. I won't give it high rating for nostaligc bullshit or because it's the first Disney movie - I still just think it's okay. It is surely charming and cute to watch, but kinda dull somehow. And when Snow White is in the forest, I find it bizarre that they show the trees as monsters with faces.
I give it 7 of 10 hats.
* Pinocchio
Now, THIS is a great and entertaining movie. I love every single minute of it, and it's overall so enchanting. It balances itself in such a genuine way, and switches so good between calm and thrilling.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Fantasia
Sorry, haven't seen... but I will, sometime.
* Dumbo
Hmm... I have only seen this one once, but remember it was good... but I remember too little of it to rate it. Sorry again... but what the heck. I think I loved it the one time I watched it, so...
I give it 10 of 10 hats. (besides - have you noticed that fans of movies get pissed off if you rate a movie you can't remember because you haven't seen it enough very low, but not when you rate it high? That's stupid.)
* Bambi
Pretty good. The cutest scene in the entire movie is after the death of Bambi's mother (... that did sound kinda morbid, huh?), where they are all grown ups (damn, I just said the title of a bad cartoon show) and meet one girl each to fall in love with. But it's pretty weird... I mean, as an adult, you know what they will do next... "coughs". I must say though, I hate the part where it rains when Bambi is young - because the music there freaked me out as a kid.
I give it 9 of 10 hats.
* Saludos Amigos
Haven't seen... sorry again.
* The Three Caballeros
And not this one either...
* Make Mine Music
... what the heck is this movie? Didn't knew it existed til I checked the list...
* Fun and Fancy Free
I'll say "wtf" again...
* Melody Time
...... what the heck - I never watch music movies!
* The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
I am so, so sorry.... I haven't watched this one either.
* Cinderella
I actually saw this movie recently. And I think it's good, even though I am not into girly movies. The mice steals the whole show though. To be honest, I find the love story itself pretty stupid... I've always hated the barbie-doll people kind off love... another reason I didn't rate Snow White so high.
I give it 7 of 10 hats.
* Alice in Wonderland
Awesome movie! Completely crazy and fun to watch. You could see that the Disney company really did let out their imagination in this one. And I love the music, and everything. God, this is a great movie!
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Peter Pan
Excellent movie as well. For some reason, I feel like playing with legos when I watch this movie. Captain Hook is such a damn funny villain in this movie. Sure, I prefer Hook above this movie... but only SLIGHTLY. This is a more than watchable movie as well... a LOT more.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Lady and the Tramp
....... ke? No, haven't watched it.
* Sleeping Beauty
Here we go again, with the barbie doll love... and I hate it. But I won't be harsh - I think this movie is actually good. Maleficent is one of the reasons - she is a cool villain. I think it's charming, but not anything I watch over and over again.... but it's still one of it's own.
I give it 8 of 10 hats.
* 101 Dalmatians
Like this movie really much. Cute and funny and enchanting. I know I am repeating myself in the reviews sometimes, but... I am reviewing over 50 movies in a row, damnit!XD But yeah, good movie. Although, I actually think the live action movie from 1995 was slightly better.
I give it 9 of 10 hats.
* The Sword in the Stone
I can't understand why Walt Disney himself didn't like this movie; I love it. One of the more genuine animated movies, and definitely close to my heart. I dig the witch villain (I can't remember the name of). And man, she was hot when she turned into... well, a hot woman.XD
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* The Jungle Book
This is one of the best Disney movies ever! I mean, why would I else have the special edition on DVD?!XD Sadly enough, this was the last movie Walt Disney was a part of before he died. But man, what a great way to say good bye. Great songs, charming characters and overall a magically great movie.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* The Aristocats
Only seen this one as well. To be honest, this should technicly not be a Disney movie, even though it's good. Why? Because Disney want to show cat as evil beings, while dogs are the opposite. What this movie shows us is how neat, cool, cute and charming cats actually can be. And that's admirable.
I give it 9 of 10 hats... out of what I remember.
* Robin Hood
Damnit, another great movie... I know, I love the hell out of lots of Disney movies.XD Nothing bad about this movie; it's enchanting, funny and clever. SO damn good!
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Aaaaw...... I mean..... oh my god, this is the cutest movie I have ever seen in my life! Pooh is so cute, Piglet is SO cute, Tigger is so funny and cute.... I love all of the characters of Winnie the Pooh, actually. This movie is plain adorable. They made a tv-series out of this in the early 1990's, which was excellent and charming as well... in comparison to all the shit made later on, such as the puppet version, and the god awful CGI where they find shit with Christopher Robin's sister, or some shit like that... makes you think how wonderful THIS movie is. Especially in comparison.
I give it 10 of 10 adorable hats.
* The Rescuers
Well, this is a okay movie. A little stiff and slow-pasted, but I can't help to like it a lot. Only thing I didn't like about this movie was the opening... so slow, and the song is plain dull. But the rest of the movie opens new hope for you.
I give it 8 of 10 hats.
* The Fox and the Hound
Only seen it once, a long time ago... I really can't remember it at all, accept for the basics of the plot... so, sorry.
* The Black Cauldron
Sorry, I haven't seen this one either...
* The Great Mouse Detective
Awesome movie! Maybe some would say they are trying to ape after The Rescuers - but they are really not. It's more like the best tribute ever made to Sherlock Holmes! And man, isn't Ratigan one of the best villains ever?
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Oliver and Company
... damn, I can't remember this movie... only watched it once...T_T
* The Little Mermaid
Well... this is a girl movie, and not something I would watch too much. It's good, but I somehow feel left out from the movie. And yes, it's YET ANOTHER sissy barbie love story! Seriously, it's starting to get annoying! But I love Flounder and Sebastian.
I give it 7 of 10 hats.
* The Rescuers Down Under
Holy crap... it's actually a sequel, and yet a Disney classic? Well, it's worth it's spot - it's in my opinion THE best Disney movie ever made! I can't find any Disney movie to top this one - it's just so great. I love especially the scene where the boy flies the big eagel. It's so good, you could suspect other movies would rip off that idea.... "coughs" Harry potter 3 "coughs".... sorry, I got throat issues...XP
I give this great movie 10 of 10 hats.
* Beauty and the Beast
Another girl movie... but this time, it's actually of my kind. Even though I've only seen it once, I remember it pretty well... and I think it's mainly because it's so good. Belle doesn't even look "overly beautiful". Just charmingly cute and likeable; and I admire that. Belle is a great character, and so is the Beast. Really great movie.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Aladdin
Second best Disney movie ever (come to think of it, I think the Djungle Book takes the third place)! Great music, great characters, great story, great villain... and damn, Iago and Genie ROCKS!!! So damn overly great and awesome!
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* The Lion King
Here comes what so many people think is one of the greatest Disney movies. My opinion? Well, I actually love it... but I don't think it's one of the greatest. I think it's because how they build the thrill and atmosphere, and the strong music work. But I love it... only though, Scar is a lame villain in the second half of the movie... a big let down - because he was a neat villain in the first part.
I give it 9 of 10 hats.
* Pocahontas
Jeez.... one of the weakest of all Disney movies - that's for sure. I mainly don't like it because it discriminates real life history. Just read the true story about Pocahontas, and you know what I mean. There's not much more to say; I just don't think this is something even worth to be called a Disney movie... but it is watchable. But nothing else...
I give it 5 of 10 hats.
* The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Saw this movie not long from now - and damn, I love this movie. It's really, really great. BUT there are 2 things that makes it a little worse than it could be: First, I actually hate the Gargoyles... some people might think they are funny; but I just think they are annoying. Second, and a BIG reason; Quasimodo don't get the girl! BOOOH!!! BOOOH!!! Fuck you, movie!!! In the original story, they become a couple! But oh no, fuck that - instead, make it ANOTHER barbie story, and let her become a couple with the overly handsome captain... WHAT THE FUCK?!! This is really, REALLY low... seriously, how dare they?!
I give it 7 of 10 hats... I would give it 10, if Quasimodo got the girl. It is THAT important, in my opinion.
* Hercules
Hehe... man, this movie is hilarious. I can sit through and just keep laughing almost every scene. This was also a completely new style for Disney to design... and I love it. Hades is the best villain I have ever seen... and yeah... I just love this shit.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Mulan
... yet again, seen it once, and can't remember it.
* Tarzan
A pretty good movie. The theme song is something you can get easily attached to. And who could ever guess Disney would do this movie? I sure couldn't. It came out of nowhere, and was a cool surprise. Only seen this once as well. But since I also remember this one as well as Beauty and the Beast, this is another example of a great movie.
I give it 9 of 10 hats.
* Fantasia 2000
... what? They made another one? How can I keep up?XD
* Dinosaur
Oh my god... Disney - what THE HELL happened?! You have the FUCKING guts to call this one of your classics?!! Walt Disney is rolling in his.... ice-cube for this, I can azure you!!! Okay... to be fair, the opening scene is good with the Carnotasaurus. But that's it - the rest of the movie blows. Right after that scene, we get a rip-off from The Land Before Time... and that's just low. Same thing about the end, speaking of the place they arrive to. And the story overall just feels plain silly, and not like something you can get attached to. Also, I think it has a WAY too serious tone for a friggin' KIDS MOVIE!!!
I give it 4 of 10 hats.
* The Emperor's New Groove
I have only one thing to say - BOOM, BABY!!! This is the funniest Disney movie ever made - and it's so damn genius for that reason! I can't stop laughing, because the next joke will come up before I get the time to stop laughing; the movie is THAT funny! And also, it got a very good message, about rather to get friends than to get powers and things for your own selfishness. It's a very, very good movie.
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Enjoyable and good. I was actually surprised how good it is - because I didn't expect much of a movie about the search for Atlantis. But damn... the Mole is my favorite character, because he is so damn awesome! And my favorite joke of the movie is probably when the main character tries to learn how to drive a truck, but ends up getting dragged after the others, looking miserable.... damn, it's so funny!XD
I give it 10 of 10 hats.
* Lilo & Stitch
Well... it's charming, cool and something you really can watch relaxed... somehow. Although, I think they take the serious tone a little too far with the relationship with the two sisters. Not the first part you see of them though - I love to see them fight, it's a very interesting thing to watch. BUT the thing about letting Lilo get adopted - I think that's WAY too heavy for any child watching the movie to carry. But Stitch is awesome. And even though they say in the movie he is ugly - I think he is among the cutest things I have ever seen!
I give it 8 of 10 hats.
* Treasure Planet
A somehow underrated movie, just because they make a futuristic version of Treasure Island... but I just think it's genius, and shows us really what a great imagination these people must have. It's definitely worth watching, and gots the heart on the right place. Although, there's one thing bothering me.... most of the CGI. But it looks awesome on Long John Silver and the robot... but the CGI made ship looks stupid, and the CGI gold in the end of the movie.... it really does not look like gold. But it's still a great movie.
I give it 9 of 10 hats.
* Brother Bear
Hmm... well... it's okay. It's absolutely okay. Buuuut nothing else. I really can't feel to concerned about things in this movie - I just think it's a little weird. The end is the highlight, though. Only watched it twice, I think.
I give it 7 of 10 hats.
* Home on the Range
Never seen.... next.
* Chicken Little
Well... this is a decent movie you can watch if you don't have so much to do. One thing though - GET THE HELL AWAY FROM THE DISNEY CLASSICS - YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE!!! It lacks BIG TIME the magic of a Disney movie, and is overall just an average movie. Worst thing is - the director of the movie told behind the scenes that he think this movie is very close to what Disney would like... screw you, damn director! But to be fair, it's a movie worth watching... I just think it's nothing special.
I give it 6 of 10 hats.
* Meet the Robinsons
.... why...... why, Disney; why.... I can't stop to think about the Jetsons when I watch this movie. But yes, I must be honest - I actually liked this movie. It was good. BUT it's definitely NOT a Disney movie.
I give it 7 of 10 hats.
* Bolt
... I won't see this. Nope, I WILL NOT see this movie! Why? Because it's a rip-off of a episode of a Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers episode with the superdog Flash (I think that was his name). A dog who plays a superhero on a TV-show thinks he is a superhero IRL, and tries to save the world from a real villain... give me a bloody break. Sure, it's probably a good movie. But really, I don't care.
You might ask - do I have a problem with CGI movies? Well, yes I have. Pixar are supposed to make them - they started it. But why does EVERYONE have to make them?! Get back to movies drawn by hand, damnit! I don't care if it costs more - if it taste, it COSTS!!!
Anyway, this was my big list. Hope you enjoyed.
